Forestry officer Bredov was chosen to write the first Russian guidebook
on soil science for forestry students and officers. Letter written to him
describes the opinion of the Minister of State Property Comte Kiselev on
how it must be written. the main wish of the Minister was that the book
was to follow the ideas of several foreign scientists named in the letter
(lines 6-8). Unfortunately, I was unable to read half of the names.

Result of the efforts of forest officer Bredov (see
previous file). He wrote the 1st part of the book in a very speedy
course and also the program of the 2nd part. I am going to check in the
library if there are any books of Bredov on soil, soil chemistry or geology
published.
