(DIVISION OF THE HISTORY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY)
In the middle of 1950th at the Presidium of USSR was created scientific organization that united all scientists working in the field of the history of science in all parts of our country.
At 1956 during the VIII International congress of the history of science which took place in Italy (Rome–Florence) our country officially joined the International Union for the History and Philosophy of Science. At 1957 г. in the system of USSR Academy of Sciences was created Soviet National Union of the Historians of Science and Technology. The Union several times had changed its name.
At 1969 when our country entered the second division of the International Union for the History and Philosophy of Science – Division of Logic, Methodology and Philosophy of Science – the Presidium of USSR Academy of Sciences reorganized Soviet National Union of the Historians of Science and Technology into Soviet National Union of the History and Philosophy of Science and Technology with two divisions – the Division of the History of Science and Technology and the Division of Logic, Methodology and Philosophy of Science in accordance with the two Divisions of International Union.
At 1988 Soviet National Union of the History and Philosophy of Science and Technology was reorganized into Soviet National Committee of the History and Philosophy of Science and Technology with two divisions – the Division of the History of Science and Technology and the Division of Logic, Methodology and Philosophy of Science in accordance with the two Divisions of International Union.
At 1992 Soviet National Committee of the History and Philosophy of Science and Technology with two divisions – the Division of the History of Science and Technology and the Division of Logic, Methodology and Philosophy of Science was reorganized into independent Russian National Committee for the History and Philosophy of Science and Technology (Division of the History of Science and Technology) without the Division of
